About the JRCLS San Diego Chapter
Formed in the early 1990's, the San Diego Chapter is proud to be one of the longest-standing chapters of the international J. Reuben Clark Law Society. Though primarily composed of LDS attorneys, we invite attorneys and law students of all faiths who support the mission of the JRCLS to join us.

J. Reuben Clark Law Society Logo Our mission statement is, "We affirm the strength brought to the law by a lawyer's personal religious conviction. We strive through public service and professional excellence to promote fairness and virtue founded upon the rule of law."

D. Russell Hymas
Russ begins serving as the Chair of the Chapter at the 2009 Spring Fireside. In the spirit of full disclosure, he admits his loyalties stretch back to the University of Utah where he earned is BA in Political Science. Nevertheless, his strong involvement with the Chapter demonstrates that BYU and U of U fans can co-exist!

He attended Cal Western and worked as an extern for District Court Judge Napoleon A. Jones, Jr. Russ is now employed by Troutman Sanders, LLP, an Atlanta-based law firm, where he works primarily in commercial real estate transactions – with an emphasis on the golf, resort, and hotel industries. He also does joint venture work.

A career highlight was successfully closing a multi-million golf course deal here in Southern California. With strong personalities involved, the deal nearly fell apart several times.

Don’t try to catch him. A couple of years ago Russ started reducing his stress by running. Now, with two marathons under his belt, he is training for the St. George marathon this October.

Russ brings leadership to the Chapter, having served as the Immediate Past Chair of the San Diego County Bar Association Real Estate Section.
